Avantherm AB has invented the use of a synthetic diesel comprising non-cyclic alkanes at a percentage of at least 50 percent, possibly up to 50 percent of alkylated monocyclic alkanes, not more than 1 percent of aromatic hydrocarbons, and not more than 1 percent of di- and polycyclic alkanes, as heat exchange medium. The invention also relates to a cooling medium, characterized in that it basically consists of a synthetic diesel comprising non-cyclic alkanes at a percentage of at least 50 percent, possibly up to 50 percent of alkylated monocyclic alkanes, not more than 1 percent of aromatic hydrocarbons, and not more than 1 percent of di- and polycyclic alkanes. The invention is patented* in Australia and South Africa. Moreover there are pending* patents in Brazil, Europe, United Arab Emirates, India, Japan, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Russian Federation, Thailand, USA and South Korea. The synthetic diesel and the use of said synthetic diesel may be used and implemented in the following technical fields:
